Beowulf
Leo:in the gripe of the grim one. Gruesome march
to Heorot this monster of harm had made
castle-dwellers and clansmen all,
earls, of their ale. Angry were both
those savage hall-guards: the house resounded.
Wonder it was the wine-hall firm
in the strain of their struggle stood, to earth
the fair house fell not; too fast it was
within and without by its iron bands
craftily clamped; though there crashed from sill
many a mead-bench—men have told me—
gay with gold, where the grim foes wrestled.
So well had weened the wisest Scyldings
that not ever at all might any man
that bone-decked, brave house break asunder,
crush by craft,—unless clasp of fire
in smoke engulfed it.—Again uprose
din redoubled. Danes of the North
with fear and frenzy were filled, each one,
who from the wall that wailing heard,
God’s foe sounding his grisly song,
cry of the conquered, clamorous pain
from captive of hell. Too closely held him
he who of men in might was strongest
in that same day of this our life.

A touch of the hand and this burning would, on the instant, beautifully reverse itself. Eckels remembered the wording in the advertisements to the letter. Out of chars and ashes, out of dust and coals, like golden salamanders, the old years, the green years, might leap; roses sweeten the air, white hair turn Irishblack, wrinkles vanish; all, everything fly back to seed, flee death, rush down to their beginnings, suns rise in western skies and set in glorious easts, moons eat themselves opposite to the custom, all and everything cupping one in another like Chinese boxes, rabbits into hats, all and everything returning to the fresh death, the seed death, the green death, to the time before the beginning. A touch of a hand might do it, the merest touch of a hand.
"Unbelievable." Eckels breathed, the light of the Machine on his thin face. "A real Time Machine." He shook his head. "Makes you think, If the election had gone badly yesterday, I might be here now running away from the results. Thank God Keith won. He'll make a fine President of the United States."

Characters:
The main characters
In the Pardoners Tale the main characters are Tom, Dick and Harry.
In the Knights Tale the main characters are Theseus, Emily, Palamon and Arcite.
Dick: He is dumb because he tried to kill death, he is greedy because he wanted all the gold for himself. He is a flat character because he only has a few personality trait
Palomon: He is brave because he was willing to fight for Emily, he is also kind hearted because he wished to win Emily's love and not to win. He is a flat character because he is only brave and kind hearted which is only a few character traits
Genre:
The Pardoners Tale:
In a morality tale there are ordinary people and has a moral in the end. This makes the Pardoners Tale a morality tale. The moral was that if you go looking for death don't be surprised when you find him. The main characters are Tom, Dick and Harry who are ordinary people. These example prove that the pardoners tale is a morality tale. You can tell that the main characters are just ordinary because they don't use magic. This story has ordinary people and a moral therefore it makes it a morality tale.
The Nun's priest Tale:
In a fable there are talking animals and a moral at the end. The nuns priests tale has these features so it makes it a fable. The moral at the end is flattery gets you in trouble and keep your mouth shut (have trust issues) Since it has a moral this further proves that its a fable. The main characters are Chauntacleer (a cock) and Sir Russell Fox (a fox). Chauntacleer speaks and sings and Sir Russell fox speaks. Sir Russell Fox said" Yes! Stretch it for me. Stretch it!" Chaunticleer said "Just listen to this." Since there are talking animals and a moral at the end this proves that the Nuns Priest Tale is a fable.
The Wife of Baths tale:
A folk tale has a be very believable story, has normal people in it and has a life lesson and has a bit of magic. So this means that the Wife of Baths tale is a folk tale. The lesson in the story was don't flirt with everyone or you'll get in trouble. The setting of the story is a castle and a forest when which is believable. And there are normal people such as Sir Codsbrain, Arthur and Guinivere, but the old woman in the story turns into a beautiful, young lady so she is a bit magical.
The Knights Tale:
Chivalric romance is a story with chivalric knights and romance. So this makes the Knights Tale a chivalric romance. Arcite and Palamon fall in love with Emily, then later they have a joust for Emilys love. So this proves that the knights tale is a chivalric knight because there are chivalric knights who fight for a girl. Palamon and Arcite are chivalric because they care more about love than fighting.
